Description
This dataset collates bird occurrences recoded via the ornitho.lu website and historic occurrences provided by the Centrale Ornithologique du Luxembourg (COL) at Natur&ëmwelt. The dataset are published by the National Museum of Natural History, Luxembourg (MnhnL) in agreement with the Centrale Ornithologique du Luxembourg (COL) at Natur&ëmwelt who have provided the original dataset. Any observer and identifier person identities are withheld. The exact location of the occurrences are coarsened to 0.01 decimal degrees. Please contact the Centrale Ornithologique du Luxembourg (COL) for further information. Ornitho.lu shall give an up-to-date overview of bird life in Luxembourg, and it shall be put into an European context in co-operation with other ornitho-systems. It shall bring together everybody interested in bird life, shall inspire people about the avifauna, and shall support environmental education (https://www.ornitho.lu/).
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,121,229 records.
